A PICTUREBOOK CHOREOGRAPHED BY RENATO MORICONI.

"In this book, there are a myriad of relationships established between the figures of a man and a woman. In the game between bodies there is sometimes confrontation, sometimes complicity. Characters and scenes alternate, mingle, change position. They are surprising and moving.

It is interesting how Renato Moriconi has selected such a wide repertoire of references and managed to give them visibility using sober, economical means.

“What’s Bothering the Bull” is an art book. It is concise, curious, original and graceful, powerful in its reverence for dance and human expression. Moriconi always surprises."

The author

Renato Moriconi is a visual artist who, in addition to painting and drawing, dedicates special attention to the creation of books. A large part of his work focuses on what are known as image books, such as this piece, which, according to the artist, was born from the desire to depict the beauty of bodies in motion and explore their narrative possibilities. In this work, he experiments with being a choreographer without dancers, capturing a performance that never existed.

Renato has published works in Brazil and various other countries, earning significant recognition, such as the Jabuti Award, the Fundación Cuatrogatos Award (USA), and a nomination for "Best Art Book" by the Italian magazine Andersen. One of his image books was listed among The Boston Globe’s Best Children's Books of 2018 in the United States.
