A baby animal wants to know what is going on in the forest.
But no one seems to care!
There are so many animals in front of him that he simply can’t see it.
On the other hand, the little one among big people, all he sees is...
“So Many butts!” uses humor to depict the reality experienced by children: not knowing what is going on because adults, big as they are, don't remember to bend down to share the news with the little ones (maybe they don't remember that for an important part of our lives we all live at the height of our elders’ butts?).
This difficulty grows even worse for our little protagonist the day he realizes that something very important is happening in the forest, so much so that all the animals have gathered to see what it is all about. Everyone except for him, who is left watching ships (or rather, butts). How curious! The event is really important, it is something that touches both adults and children. Have you guessed yet?
This is the first print edition of So Many Butts!, a story originally published as a literary app in 2016. Winner of 2017 Jabuti Prize in the Digital Children category.

The authors
Isabel Malzoni was born in Rio de Janeiro but has lived in São Paulo since childhood. As a child, she used to poke adults who didn’t bend down to talk to her. But once she grew taller, she no longer needed to do that. Everything changed, but her love for children’s books remained. Her passion was so strong that she started a publishing house to publish them and now also writes her own stories.
Bruna Lubambo currently lives in Minas Gerais but is about to move to Recife, her parents' hometown. She clearly remembers her childhood, often getting elbowed in the forehead while walking down the street—adults are so absent-minded! Today, she is an author of illustrated books and, though she has grown as much as she needed to (which wasn’t much), she still feels a bit small. In fact, when she goes to a concert, she can't help but feel like shouting, "What a neck!"
