KIT MATERIALIDADES (KIT MATERIALITIES)
To celebrate Editora Caixote’s 10th anniversary, we decided to create themed book bundles so you can complete your collection at a discount.
This fourth bundle brings together works that play with form, challenge standard formats, and remind us that reading is also about touching, flipping through pages, smelling the books, and being surprised. Do you already own all of them? You get a 20% discount when you buy the bundle.
ÁGUA (WATER)
From the meeting of one of the most acclaimed picture-book authors, South Korean Suzy Lee, and her compatriot, the musician Lucid Fall, comes a book as fluid as water, capable of capturing a moment of contentment and freedom.
"Illustrating 'Água' was a new experience: uniting the creative power of the picture book with that of music. That is what I want to do: expand the realm of picture books and their readers.".

NA ESTRADA (The Road)
Is it possible to say what happened?
This phrase by Jacques Derrida is the starting point for Na Estrada, a poem by Geruza Zelnys illustrated/embroidered by Liliana Pardini. The epigraph and credits are the only words inserted into the book later, in digital form. The entire main text was embroidered by Liliana, who has published over 30 artist books, during the process of illustrating Geruza’s poem.
Na Estrada was not a planned book; it happened to me like a mist. In it, I now capture a kind of origin of my entire poetic project: the place “in the middle” where everything started again, forwards and backwards; the place where a significant experience was inscribed,” says Geruza.
To convey the poetic charge of the text, Liliana realized that she would need to embroider “the reverse” of the story, what was hidden. For this reason, she made the book in accordion format, where the reader goes and then comes back. Hopefully, paying attention to what's in between.
EU QUERO SER (I WANT TO BE)
If 16 mixed characters can form 4,069 combinations, can you imagine what would happen if we brought all our dreams together?
This very special book by Portuguese authors André and José Jorge Letria was created in honor of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. It invites readers to play at creating characters and poetic possibilities for the future. What more could you need for a happy book, and a happy childhood?
LÁ (OVER THERE)
DOWN there
INSIDE
ABOVE
What if a book invited you to explore new worlds, “unfolding” one step at a time?
Lá, an object-book by designer and illustrator Fernanda Ozilak, is made of three different explorations: the Ocean, the Forest and Outer space. Each one of these adventures is a kind of poster, folded in its own particular way (all three are stocked inside a glove).
On one side, an image reveals itself little by little- and includes so many important details! On the other side, a humorous informative text.
Finally, you can fold and unfold each experience, testing out different ways of reading it, or you can frame it… Lá is not about where you end up, but about the paths to get there.
EU, EU (ME, ME)
While people talk and talk and don't listen to each other, a whole world of things can stop from happening.
(Or maybe it happens, but we don't see it?)
This is a picturebook about the wonders that exist around us – and during good conversations too.
