COISAS PARA DESLEMBRAR (THINGS TO UNREMEMBER)
A book about the labyrinths of memory. An illustrated, moving and lyrical narrative about a a woman recalling one's life stories.
There are different ways to speak of Coisas para Deslembrar, but still, it remains a book that is difficult to describe.
Having more often targeted a children and young adult audience in his literary trajectory, Rampazo now surprises with this new challenge: creating illustrated books that are “ageless”, which is the idea behind the o.Tal imprint.
MILÁGRIMAS (THOUSANDTEARS)
A miracle emerges from every thousand tears.
Milágrimas (Thousandtears) features lyrics by poet Alice Ruiz S, set to music by Itamar Assumpção and performed by voices such as Zélia Duncan, Ná Ozzetti, Anelis Assumpção, and Alzira E., among others. Now, Milágrimas has become a book illustrated by Luli Penna.
Zélia Duncan, one of the female voices to whom the book is dedicated, says that Milágrimas is "one of those [lyrics] that were always there somewhere. Predestined to exist within us, through someone’s pen." In a WhatsApp message, the singer notes that the lyrics were playing in her mind as she wrote her text. "It had to be written by a woman, an Alice. A singular Alice Ruiz. It was her pen that made it possible to tell us that suffering need not be in vain. That crying is important, and the miracle is the morning that follows. The brilliant Itamar Assumpção composed the melody. That was crucial because, after all, men don't cry... nor do they work miracles like that!"
The piece, part lyric, part poem, part song, marks its 30th anniversary in 2020; it served as the title for a 2005 show by choreographer Ivaldo Bertazzo, also lending its name to the soundtrack composed by Benjamin Taubkin and Arthur Nestrovski.
O QUE INCOMODA O TOURO NÃO É A COR MAS O MOVIMENTO (WHAT'S BOTHERING THE BULL IS NOT THE COLOR BUT THE MOVIMENT)
A PICTUREBOOK CHOREOGRAPHED BY RENATO MORICONI.
"In this book, there are a myriad of relationships established between the figures of a man and a woman. In the game between bodies there is sometimes confrontation, sometimes complicity.
Characters and scenes alternate, mingle, change position. They are surprising and moving.
It is interesting how Renato Moriconi has selected such a wide repertoire of references and managed to give them visibility using sober, economical means.
What’s Bothering the Bull is an art book. It is concise, curious, original and graceful, powerful in its reverence for dance and human expression. Moriconi always surprises."
