Shortlisted for Prêmio Jabuti 2021

30 Best books of the Year (Revista Crescer)

FNLIJ (IBBY Brazil) Highly Recommended

This book was born from a poem writer by actor and arteducator Yuri de Francco, in which a boy, already dissolving from crying so much, starts to rain. As a cloud, really. Or, you mayperhaps agree with me, like all of us.

In the hands of visual artist Renato Moriconi, the book captures the movement suggested by the rain and the boy's feelings, not just with the words and images, but with the book itself as object. The Boy who Became Rain is a hybrid of an illustrated book and flipbook.
