Margaret e a Flor-da-Lua

This book is inspired by the life of the English illustrator, botanist and ecologist Margaret Mee (1909 – 1988). Margaret, who lived in Brazil for the last 36 years of her life, made 15 expeditions through the Amazon between 1956 and 1988. During these courageous forays into remote places, she discovered several species of plants and catalogued hundreds of others, painting them in a very unique watercolor style. Her love and fascination for nature and Brazilian flora made Margaret not only an internationally renowned artist, but also an activist. At that time, she was already warning about the risk of extinction of the forest, and used her paintings as a way to encourage the preservation of the biodiversity of the Amazon.
