The launch of the o.Tal imprint, home to timeless picture books from Editora Caixote, features embroidered mythology.

˝Liliana Pardini’s Medusa laughs because laughter is convulsive and volcanic: it shatters the surface and collapses structures. Here, the stitching runs through both body and language, working from the reverse side; it turns the thread into tactile memory and transforms the wound into a signifying surface. Only embroidery can rewrite violence with a smile, without, however, erasing it.̏

The back-cover text by Geruza Zelnys invites readers to explore Medusa’s tragic story but, more importantly, challenges them to discover how she fought against violence. We invite you to discover the hidden side of this mesmerizing figure from Greek mythology.
